Dwayne Johnson is the biggest star on earth right now. He is also one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood currently. After having a super successful career in the WWE, he decided to try his hand at acting and he struck gold. But before the WWE, Johnson had dreams of playing for the NFL which didn’t work out. Despite this, his love for the game is still strong and this season he will be supporting an XFL player who just got signed to the NFL.

The NFL season is on and fans just can’t get enough of the madness. Such is the energy that during one high-octane game, beloved quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his left Achilles tendon and is currently recovering. As we head closer to the Super Bowl, new additions are constantly being made to strengthen the teams. One such addition has been that of quarterback A. J. McCarron to the Cincinnati Bengals.

McCarron was earlier signed to St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL. During the 2023 XFL season, he became a top star for the Battlehawks. McCarron was earlier signed to the NFL as a backup. He even stated that he chose the XFL over the NFL so he would get more on-camera playing time so his kids could see him on TV.

This struck a chord with Johnson who is very close to his three daughters. He even praised him for his bold choice of joining the XFL which he jointly owns. And just yesterday, after McCarron got signed to the Cincinnati Bengals, Johnson took to X, formerly Twitter, to show his support for him. He said, “Love this. Congratulations AJ, I’ll be rooting you on this @NFL @Bengals season!! Thank you for being such a tremendous leader for us in the @XFL2023 @XFLBattlehawks Go be great! #LeagueOfOpportunity #XFL”.

In 1995, when most of his friends got drafted to NFL teams, he didn’t make the cut. That really disappointed Johnson, as it was his lifelong dream to win the Super Bowl with the New York Giants.

Then he signed with the Calgary Stampeders of CFL before being cut from the team mid-season in 1996. That’s when he took the biggest decision of his life to enter the WWE and the rest, as they say, is history.
