Rodeo Teams Seal Fate as Trade Deadline Closes, Locking in Rosters for the Regular Season

The ongoing regular season has concluded and with its ending, it has marked the beginning of the 2023 PBR Teams Championship. It will be taking place in Las Vegas and the spectators can’t keep calm.

Before the end of the regular season, the trade deadline for the PBR Camping World Team Series was on the 28th of September. Considering this, the final rosters have been given by all the teams and now the sight is only set upon the upcoming series in Las Vegas.

The 30th of September was the final day of the ProRodeo Season and with its ending, the trade deadline was on the 28th of September. The final roster designations by all eight teams have been given for the stretch run. All the teams were given the freedom to lock in around seven riders to each of their Protected Roster. With this, five riders were supposed to be added to the team’s Reserve Roster, and two extra riders for the Injured Reserve.

According to, every association has decided 12 to 14 riders which they will carry into the final two events of the season and heading into the 2023 PBR Teams Championship. The 2023 teams’ championship will be taking place in Las Vegas starting from the 20th of October to the 22nd of October.

At the time of the final two regular-season events, the team will be allowed to release riders from either their Protected Roster or the Reserve Roster, however, they will not be given the allowance to sign free agents until the 2023 competition comes to an end. There is only one instance where the team will be allowed to sign a free agent during the 2023 competition.

Only if they delegate a rider from either the Protected Roster or Reserved Roster to the Injured Roster. This will only be done when they have the space to do that, and every team will be allowed to add only two injured reserved spots. There were a few trades that were witnessed in the weeks leading to this year’s Trade deadline.

The trades between the teams during the 2023 season 

Amongst the trades that occurred this week, two teams were highly involved in the swapping. Kansas City Outlaws and Carolina Cowboys were seen frequently being a part of swapping trades. The Outlaws acquired 24-year-old Sandro Batista from the Cowboys in exchange for future considerations. There were some other trades that took place as well.

The Oklahoma Freedom acquired youngster Dawson Gleaves from the Texas Rattlers by dealing their Eli Vastbinder. The other one was The Arizona Ridge Riders who acquired Colten Fritzlan from the Missouri Thunder and exchanged a first-round selection in the 2023 PBR Teams Draft. Next was the Nashville Stampede which acquired Jess Lockwood in exchange for Thiago Salgado.
